PLÖTULOPI er uspunnet ull. Garnet er skjørt og må håndteres varsomt.

Plötulopi strikkes oftest med to eller tre tråder sammen, noe som gir plagg som er usedvanlig lette og luftige. Når det først er strikket, blir Plötulopi overraskende sterkt – takket være de unike egenskapene til islandsk ull.

Tvinn forsiktig sammen ønsket antall tråder av Plötulopi, eller strikk rett fra platene.

En enkel tråd av Plötulopi er svært skjør. Den kan forsterkes ved å tvinne den lett. Plötulopi egner seg også godt til toving, håndspinning og mange andre prosjekter.
